About Kaitlynn E E Allen
Kaitlynn E E Allen is a British writer living on the north-west coast of England, in Blackpool. Alongside a full-time role in the Civil Service, she has spent years indulging a lifelong love of history, and of the Second World War in particular: its overlooked corners, its forgotten lives, and the paths it might so easily have taken instead. She is drawn above all to how war affects women, and the roles it forces upon them.
An avid reader across genres, she has traced her own family history since the late 1980s, work that sharpened both her research and her fascination with the past. Away from writing, she enjoys computer gaming and flight simulation.

FAQ
What is your book?
The German General's English Wife is a Book Club historical novel set during the Second World War. It follows Anita, an Anglo-American woman married to a German officer, torn between two nations, two loyalties, and the impossible choices war forces upon her.
Where can I buy it?
The German General's English Wife is currently available on Amazon.
What inspired your writing?
A single question I couldn't answer: were any women from Allied countries married to senior German officers? The history books were silent, so I imagined one, and the research that followed shaped the whole novel.
The German General's English Wife is my debut. I'm at work on more, drawn to the same themes: history's overlooked lives, and the women caught in the machinery of war.

I'm a British writer based in Blackpool. Alongside a full-time role in the Civil Service, I've spent years researching the Second World War and my own family history, which sharpened both my craft and my love of the past.
Location
I currently live in Blackpool, a historic seaside town on the north-west coast of England. I was born in Birmingham, and as a child my family moved from there to Cornwall, then Kent, and later Bristol. I came to Blackpool in 2005, left for Stoke-on-Trent with my work in 2016, and returned in 2025. I consider Blackpool my home now.
